Jennifer A. Fremgen
is an Associate of the firm. She began working with Aiello & Cannick as a paralegal in 1991. Two years later, she enrolled at St. John's University, School of Law where she graduated cum laude while working part-time. Upon graduation from law school, she began working full time as an associate with Aiello and Cannick assisting the partners with criminal cases including legal research, trial preparation and civil and appellate practice.
In 1997, she developed an expertise in the area of education law and was assigned
to handle all legal matters for the Mount Vernon City School District. She personally handled all legal matters pertaining to the day to day operations of the school district including attending all board meetings, reviewing contracted service agreements, reviewing and approving all board tabs and resolutions. In addition she handled all appeals to the Commissioner of Education, impartial hearings, special education hearings, disciplinary hearings and labor negotiations with all union groups.
In April 2003 she received a special services award presented to her from the Mt. Vernon Board of Education recognizing her extraordinary dedication, commitment, support and service to the students, school district and community.
Although 75% of her practice is dedicated to education law, she also handles real estate matters for the firm. She represents several condominium associations in Queens County. Her real estate practice involves representation of condominium boards as general counsel and litigation matters.
Ms. Fremgen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from St. John's University in Queens, New York and received her Juris Doctorate degree from St. John's University School of Law.
